Sacraments

"The Sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us. The visible rites by which the sacraments are celebrated signify and make present the graces proper to each sacrament. They bear fruit in those who receive them with the required dispositions"
(CCC 1131).

"Christ is in the Father by reason of His divine nature, we are in him by reason of His human birth, and He is in us through the mystery of the Sacraments."
~ St. Hilary of Poitiers
Baptism
"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments” (CCC 1213). To have your child baptized, contact our office to make an appointment with the pastor. For adults seeking Baptism, please enroll in our OCIA program.

Reconciliation
"Christ instituted the sacrament of Penance for all sinful members of his Church: above all for those who, since Baptism, have fallen into grave sin, and have thus lost their baptismal grace and wounded ecclesial communion. It is to them that the sacrament of Penance offers a new possibility to convert and to recover the grace of justification" (CCC 1446). Click here to view Confession times.

"In failing to confess, Lord, I would only hide You from myself, not myself from You." ~ St. Augustine

The Holy Eucharist
"The Eucharist is the heart and the summit of the Church's life, for in it Christ associates his Church and all her members with his sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving offered once for all on the cross to his Father; by this sacrifice he pours out the graces of salvation on his Body which is the Church" (CCC 1407).

“What wonderful majesty! What stupendous condescension! O sublime humility! That the Lord of the whole universe, God and the Son of God, should humble Himself like this under the form of a little bread, for our salvation."
~ St. Francis of Assisi

Confirmation
"Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation constitute the 'sacraments of Christian initiation,' whose unity must be safeguarded... "For by the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed" (CCC 1285).

Anointing of
the Sick
"By the sacred Anointing of the Sick and the prayer of the priests, the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them; and indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ"(CCC 1499). To request an anointing, please contact our office to make an appointment with our pastor.

Holy Matrimony

"The matrimonial convenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the while of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this convenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament" (CCC 1601).
Preparation must begin six months before the wedding date. Contact our office to speak with our pastor for more information.

“When a husband and wife are united in marriage, they no longer seem like something earthly, but rather like the image of God himself.” ~ St. John Chrysostom
Holy Orders
Through the sacrament of Holy Orders, priests share in the universal dimensions of the mission that Christ entrusted to the apostles. The spiritual gift they have received in ordination prepares them, not for a limited and restricted mission, "but for the fullest, in fact the universal mission of salvation 'to the end of the earth," "prepared in spirit to preach the Gospel everywhere" (CCC 1565).
